4th Annual Fuel Cell Investor Conference
Date: Tuesday, March 16, 2004 @ 20:09:47 GMT
Topic: Investors

From the Strategic Research Institute: Dear Colleague:

The fuel cell industry has reached an important juncture. It has become abundantly clear that the promise of rapid commercialization has not materialized. As product development timetables have been stretched, investors have become cautious, and funding for emerging fuel cell companies has been hard to find. At the same time, engineers and scientists are making solid technical progress, strategic players remain committed to the industry, and the federal government has proposed significant support for fuel cell and hydrogen research and development efforts.

There remain critical questions that must be answered:

What are the pathways to further performance improvement and cost reduction?
What can fuel cell companies do to generate revenue from the technologies they have developed thus far while their core fuel cell products remain un-commercial?
What milestones must the fuel cell industry meet to re-ignite the interest of the investment community?
To what extent can the military and other government agencies help bridge the funding gap?
Which product markets offer the greatest potential for early commercialization?
How are the many issues related to fuel cell and hydrogen infrastructure being resolved?
For the fourth annual Fuel Cell Investor Conference, we have assembled a roster of leading fuel cell industry participants to address these concerns. I invite you to gather with representatives from fuel cell systems integrators, component suppliers, hydrogen companies, federal agencies, venture capitalists and industry analysts.

I look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia.

Sincerely,

James LoGerfo
