Battery recharge time is indeed a problem, in case the driver has to recharge during a trip, and not at home.
That is why the discovery of li-ion  batteries with nano-particles electrodes is good news: such batteries can be recharged within 10 minutes.

Can you imagine how many amps are needed to recharge an electric car battery within 10 minutes?  The charging current will be very very high, then special charging equipment is required to do this trick, for instance a multi-wire cable that connects to many Li-ion-batteries in the car.

Anyway, yesterday I bought an E-max scooter (I am not a car owner). I will recharge at home. This scooter uses 10 times less energy than a gasoline scooter, so my fuel (electricity) costs will be a factor 8 less. Secondly, the motor of the E-max is practically maintenance free. The E-max scooter is about 600 Euros more expensive than a comparable gasoline scooter, but I expect to save 200 Euros each year, so after 3 years the decision of "going electric" will be profitable.

"Maybe I retrofit the scooter with a continuous recharging system"
