Blacklight Power development stage

Testimonials In the hydrino group Mike Carrell (MC) writes: mhuemoller (MH) wrote:

MH: Mike, was wondering if you could ask the people at Blacklight what progress is being made toward development of commercial power. I recall them saying a couple of years ago it was 12 months away. Specifically it would be nice to know if they have:

1. Achieved success in a blacklight reactor that can sustain itself by taking power from the Blacklight catalytic reaction and generating enough electricity to power the microwave and vaccuum pumps? This can be on any scale, but would demonstrate the feasibility of the power source.

2. Demostrated a way to convert the reaction to a usable form of energy with enough efficiency to make excess power in enough abundance to be attrative for a power source.

I assume that they are working toward commercialization as a goal it would just be nice to get an update on how they are coming along and an update on timeframe estimates.

MC: We would all like to know these things, but I have better sense than to ask. I'm not a stockholder and keep on reasonable terms with Randy by not wasting his time or asking questions he is obviously not ready to answer. Journalists such as Erik Baard probably have better access to him, and progress along these lines is probably confidential. An investor told me that at an investor's meeting there was talk of partnerships with deep pockets, and an air of optimism, but no details.

A timeline was shown last year with about a year of applications development into about this time. My industrial experience is that such projections are quite optimistic at best and reality can be agonizingly long and expensive. Also, devlopment work of this kind is usually done very quietly, especially when no public funds are needed. BLP is privately fianced. A partner is probably a publicly held corportation, but they don't tell their stockholders and the press everything, especially when it is R&D. When some device is ready, a new corporate entity may be created and an IPO for development funds. BLP will probably remain a privately funded research and licensing lab with minority interest in the hopefully many application companies.

So for now we have to be patient and read the tea leaves.

MH: Thanks for all of your input on this forum. Your responses to PZ and Woogie are always interesting. I think PZ and Woogie have some interesting points as well, but sometimes it seems they are unwilling to look into the overall reaction and the generation of excess heat.

MC: Thank you. I hope the exchange is educational for all parties, and of some entertainment as well. I am thinking of an essay on the subject of "adequacy" which I hope will make at least a flimsy bridge between their positions and mine.

MH: It kinda reminds me of the cold fusion fiasco. Except now there is so much mounting evidence for something happening by credible labs that can be repeated that the Govt is now re-looking into the phenomenon.

MC: I spent years in the CF trenches and am aware of the DoE study. Incidentally, a new scientific society is in formation: International Society for Condensed Matter Nuclear Science. I just finished a bit of editing of a message from its president, Akito Takahasi. The term CMNS is inclusive of a wide range of related phenomena, including CF, LENR & CANR.

MH: I also think the exchanges between John and Nora have been wonderful.

I encourage all of you to continue your active participation and if I can encourage you to invite others in your community to join.

Thanks

MC: You’re most welcome.
Mike Carrell
