(PhysOrg.com) -- Applying innovative measurement techniques, researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology and the National Institute of Standards and Technology have directly measured the unusual energy spectrum of graphene, a technologically promising, two-dimensional form of carbon that has tantalized and puzzled scientists since its discovery in 2004.

I have been amazed since I read articles from the discovery of graphene. It's characteristics draw much curiosity to me. I heard that Samsung already made touchscreen from graphene. I also read that paper made from graphene has antibacterial compositions. While there are lots to read about graphene, there are still not much done to put good use into it. But I am very positive we will enjoy great products from this very soon. Congrats to the guys behind the discovery!

Graphene is the thinnest, strongest material known to man that conducts electricity and heat better than any substance. The 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics, and the $1.4 million dollar award that goes with it, were awarded to a duo of Russian researchers who found graphene. Experiments are being conducted by scientists all over the world to determine practical graphene applications that include replacing silicon in computer chips, ultra-definition screens and new components as yet unknown.
