Testimonials Jeane Manning writes: Hi Vlad

I think the ZPEnergy.com readers who are in the Washington state / British Columbia area would be interested in New Energy Movement Canada’s speaker for this coming Monday night, September 8. Steven B. Krivit, author of The Rebirth of Cold Fusion, speaks on “The Story of Cold Fusion and Its Development into a New Science”, at 7 p.m. Sept 8 at the Fletcher Challenge Theatre, Simon Fraser University (downtown, Harbour Centre), 515 W. Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada. The public is invited, entrance by donation (about $20 is the usual). /JM

Scientists in possible cold fusion breakthrough (Score: 1)

Researchers at a US Navy laboratory have unveiled what they say is "significant" evidence of cold fusion, a potential energy source that has many skeptics in the scientific community.

The scientists on Monday described what they called the first clear visual evidence that low-energy nuclear reaction (LENR), or cold fusion devices can produce neutrons, subatomic particles that scientists say are indicative of nuclear reactions...

About a 45 minute interview of the cold fusion researchers:

Organizer, Jan Marwan, first 5 minutes
Steven Krivit, New Energy Times [www.newenergytimes.com], 6-10 minutes. Overview of the last 20 years
Antonella De Ninno, 10-13 minutes
Pamela Boss, 13-17 minutes, Navy researcher who detected neutrons
John Dash, 17-22 minutes
Mahadeva Srinivasan, 22-28
Q & A 29-45 minutes
Triple Track neutron question and answer 31-32 minute DT fusion consistent neutrons
100-200 researchers is not enough to rapidly solve these issues but progress has been made
37 minutes-44 minutes someone who did not attend the research meetings tries to ask why does this look like regular hot nuclear fusion in terms of reaction products. Answer these are not the same processes.
Old physics in a new context. Not fusion in a plasma but reactions in condensed matter.
44 minutes - Arata's work discussed. Deuterium introduced into apparatus but no power is added. So not excess heat. Just heat production where there would normally be none.

2009/03/23|11:50:20 “Cold fusion” rebirth? New evidence for existence of controversial energy source Researchers are reporting compelling new scientific evidence for the existence of low-energy nuclear reactions (LENR), the process once called “cold fusion” that may promise a new source of energy. One group of scientists, for instance, describe what they term the first clear visual evidence that LENR devices can produce neutrons, subatomic particles that scientists view as tell-tale signs that nuclear reactions are occurring. Low-energy nuclear reactions could potentially provide 21st Century society a limitless and environmentally-clean energy source for generating electricity, researchers say. The report injects new life into this controversial field.

I am two minds on this: It is great to see news coverage that is not hostile for once (it even made Yahoo's news).... But on the other hand, these people act like they just re-invented it! Totally ignoring the 120 successful LENR experiments to date all over the world (..except in the US), and acting like the subject was all worthless until they came along and blessed it with their grace LOL (... Touting technology break-throughs they did not even discover; it came from the "Energetics" peeps in Israel).

To me, this is just CYA for the Superwave technology possibly being marketed within the next few years, because they realize that if they didn't do something, and kept on with the silly denials, then once that comes out they would either look like idiots or the lying suppressors that they are ;)

So even if it does rub some of us the wrong way, it is good progress.

BTW i noticed that the Prosecutors' Office in the county in Connecticut where Dr. Eugene Mallove was murdered 4 years ago is now offering a $50k reward for information on solving the case. They finally gave up on the two "usual suspects" (already in jail for other non-violent crimes) who they claimed did it... The ones they wrongly pointed to when telling everyone the "case was solved" over 3 years ago. Lol, i know for fact they were not happy when my article describing the case came out last summer ;)

Posted by Steven Krivit (NETimes): On Dec. 12, 2006, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency held a meeting in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, to review several controversial areas of research. Low-energy nuclear reactions were among those topics. New Energy Times has obtained the first public record of this meeting through the use of a Freedom of Information Act request.
