Discovery backs theory oil not 'fossil fuel'
Posted on Monday, February 04, 2008 @ 21:19:15 UTC by vlad

General Sepp Hasslberger writes: Peak oil is repeatedly coming up in discussions as a scenario that is widely accepted.

It seems that the "we are running out of oil" mantra is just so much hot air vented by the friends of a very profitable industry that extracts and sells oil.

While that scenario and the high price of oil is a welcome stimulus for the development of alternative technologies, we should realize that it is not based on fact. A recent scientific mission discovered evidence for the continuous production of hydrocarbons in the earth's mantle that we should be aware of as a group.

Discovery backs theory oil not 'fossil fuel'

New evidence supports premise that Earth produces endless supply

Kind regards
Sepp

The Peak Oil Deception: Squeezing Energy for Profit (Score: 1)

Sepp Hasslberger writes: While energy needs are set to grow inexorably for the next decades, production of hydrocarbon fuels is being throttled down to a trickle. The resulting shortage finds us - the consumers of energy - at a distinct disadvantage. We are paying the price for not paying attention. The Peak Oil scenario was first announced in 1956 by a petroleum geologist - M. King Hubbert - who was at the time working for the Shell Oil company. Hubbert's prediction was that oil production would peak in the US between 1965 and 1970 and that internationally, the peak of production would be reached around the year 2000. Hubbert's peak, as the inexorable winding down of oil production has also been named, is...

Sepp Hasslberger, who is ... ? Abiotic petroleum Ha, Ha Ha,

Previous posters have hit the high points that crtique this 'news'.

I'm not even gong  to search who in the wold is Sepp and what his agenda minght be.

But if one is totally naive about abiotic oil search theoildrum and the subject and be prepared for an avalanche.

News, portal ,,, huh ?

Oil prices did not collapse as a result of this story, which has been around for a while. They will continue to increase as reserves deplete, and demand increases.

Abiotic petroleum has some basis in fact, but is not the origin of the petroleum we are sucking out of the ground today. There has never been a petroleum deposit that bears the signature of an abiotic origin.

Read carefully into Golds theory, and you'll see that these hydrocarbons, if they exist, occur in very small densities very deep in the earths crust.

About the only endless supply we seem to have occuring on Earth is the supply of mendacityand distortion coming out of the mass media.

Could well be. However what is the rate of production?  If its very low then it would still take millions of years to produce the quantities that we burn and thus the method of oil generation is mute. It is still essentially "fossil". It can only be non fossil if the quantities generated are high enough to be a viable source.

This in no way means I agree with using it as a fuel source though. It seems to me that the earth has been stablising for millions of years in order to be in the balance it currently is.  This balance has sustained "life as we know it" i.e us. So to then re-release those locked up hydrocarbons is exceptionally dumb. You have to be really really stupid to think undoing millions of years of earth chemistry will have no affect! But then again we mess with nature all the time and wonder why disasters happen DUH!
