    General AP) -- Al Gore said Thursday the United States is "principally responsible" for blocking progress at the U.N. climate conference, and European nations threatened to boycott U.S.-led climate talks next month unless Washington compromises on emissions reductions.

    Let's face it nothing will come of these talks because the US does not want to do anything about its energy consumption.  It has lied to its its citizens for years and so ensured that there are enough global warming skeptics in the US to prevent any internal pressure.  You only have to look at the number of skeptics who exist on sites like this one and ASTNN, Physorg etc. All overwhelmingly US based skeptics.

    Without the US changing then there's no way in hell that China and India will.  China alone can cause as much damage over the next 10 years as the west has done already. Scary stuff and that strange date of 2012 that appears in all sorts of ancient and recent "predictions" is looming ever closer (not that I believe in those kind of predictions but it is an odd coincidence.....)
