I knew that Gore was a sharp guy,but He really impressed the fact that we have to face up to the problems endemic to mankind tat are rapidly destroying the world and its ability to sustain life...namely population, Green house gasses,WMD,War, and Greenhouse gasses. The problems are daunting, some say hopeless... But America, and empowered individuals around the world have achieved the impossible time and again...What we need is a NEW DEAL to GET BACK OUR JOBS! Every time we fill our tank, we are diluting our currency, and sponsering terrorists. During the new deal many of our great hydroelectric projects were carried out. Instead of our government paying for unemployment and soldiers salaries(and funerals). Lets pay people to retool our infrastucture to much more efficient and clean technology. Lets pay people to build compressed air and hydrogen recharge stations for thier cars...retooling our dams for hydrogeneration during nonpeak times,installing the array of new photovoltaics on homes and bussiness's, converting our dumps,coal and evrything nasty into Magnagas power plants. Lets pay people to plant trees in Haiti(and home) and clean-up all the filth we live in that caused our children to be asmatic, and allergic to PEANUTBUTTER of all things, deseases like cancer,mad cow, and bird flu.... We have to change the way we solve problems: war and petrochemicals industry are not the answer to all our problems. Farmers are realising just now that they have degraded thier soil to the point that it is addicted/and dying of petrochemical fertalizers and pestacides. Based on polar core samples and other data:The CO2 level is equal to the highest concentration in 400,000 years. Scientists have found that temperature laggs slightly, but mirrors exactly global CO2 levels...What is goin to happen when the CO2 level is doubled in the next 20 years? Will global temps double? Nobody knows because we have no records of planetary temps with CO2 levels that high....What is going to happen when the polar ice cap melts in 10 years? In the summer time the sun shines on the polar ice cap 24 hours a day and it reflects a SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT of the total amount of solar energy absorbed by the planet. After it has melts, all thatr energy will be trapped by the ocean causing regional and global temps to spike! If we don't address these problems now. It may be futile tomarrow, and our children and thier children will curse our generation for destroying the world and thier dreams. Regardless of your party affiliation, sound the alarm and lets rally for our jobs and our children. I don't like the cards I've been dealt....I want a NEW DEAL! MOTSB | Parent
