I have no reason to try working through their page without "mixing up means and maxes or mins." I've agreed with you that this is a mistake made by GWE.

As for the text, you're right, the only thing in the entire page that hints at your interpretation is the phrase "the cost of operation based on the system purchase price." When I said long ago that the sentence wasn't worded very well, I was thinking about this very clause. But, one need only reinterpret this as "the cost of operation based on the configuration of the system", and the problem is gone. Meanwhile, you have to rework all kinds of text to get your interpretation to make sense, and use a ten month year!

You're right, the page taken as a whole is meant to compute the total cost of ownership, which is why they first discuss the retail price of the device, and the operational cost. The ownership cost is NOT simply the $15. (If you want to know the total ownership costs, including retail costs spread out over a 20 year period, and the operational costs, I did that on an earlier post.)

Anyway, I think I've convinced everyone, first, that your interpretation is nonsense, and second, that you refuse to admit as much when shown in painfully obvious terms.

So I won't be commenting on this issue again, UNLESS there is one, just one, other person reading this who will speak up and say you're interpretation is right. Hey, I'll even accept a private message if there is a pro-GWE person out there who doesn't want to publicly side with JL.
