Introduction
Science is in a state of crisis. Where free inquiry, natural curiosity and open-minded discussion and consideration of new ideas should reign, a new orthodoxy has emerged. This 'new inquisition', as it has been called by Robert Anton Wilson[2] consists not of cardinals and popes, but of the editors and reviewers of scientific journals, of leading authorities and self-appointed "skeptics", and last but not least of corporations and governments that have a vested interest in keeping the status quo, and it is just as effective in suppressing unorthodox ideas as the original. The scientists in the editorial boards of journals who decide which research is fit to be published, and which is not, the scientists at the patent office who decide what feats nature allows human technology to perform, and which ones it does not, and the scientists in governmental agencies who decide what proposals to fund, and not to fund, either truly believe that they are in complete knowledge of all the fundamental laws of nature, or they purposely suppress certain discoveries that threaten the scientific prestige of individuals or institutions, or economic interests. Research that indicates that an accepted theory is incomplete, severely flawed, or completely mistaken, will be rejected on the grounds that it "contradicts the laws of nature", and therefore has to be the result of sloppiness or fraud. At the heart of this argument is the incorrect notion that theory overrides evidence.
In true science, theory always surrenders to the primacy of evidence. If observations are made that, after careful verification and theoretical analysis, are found to be inconsistent with a theory, than that theory has to go - no matter how aesthetically pleasing it is, or how prestigious its supporters are, or how many billions of dollars a certain industry has bet on it.
But in current mainstream science, the opposite occurs with disturbing regularity. Anomalous evidence is first ignored, then ridiculed, and if that fails, its author attacked. Scientific conferences will not admit it to be presented, scientific journals will refuse to publish it, and fellow scientists know better than to express solidarity with an unorthodox colleague. In today's scientific world, the cards are just stacked too heavily against true scientific breakthroughs. Too many careers are at stake, too many vested interests are involved for any truly revolutionary advancement in science to take place any more. All too often, scientific truth is determined by the authority of experts and textbooks, not by logic and reason.
Referring to the fin de siecle "end of science" mentality and the scientific revolutions following it, Robert G. Jahn writes in 20th and 21st Century Science: Reflections and Projections[3]:
"As we enter the 21st century, science seems poised to execute a similar evolutionary cycle of advancement of their comprehension and relevance. We are opening with a steadily growing backlog of demonstrable physical, biological and psychological anomalies (..) most of which seem incontrovertibly correlated with properties and processes of the human mind, in ways for which our preceding 20th century scientific paradigm has no rational explanations. (..)
Thus, at the dawn of the 21st century, we again find an elite, smugly contented scientific establishment, but one now endowed with far more public authority and respect than that of the prior version. A veritable priesthood of high science controls major segments of public and private policy and expenditure for research, development, construction, production, education and publication throughout the world, and enjoys a cultural trust and reverence that extends far beyond its true merit. It is an establishment that is largely consumed with refinements and deployments of mid-20th century science, rather than with creative advancement of fundamental understanding of the most profound and seminal aspects of its trade. Even more seriously, it is an establishment that persists in frenetically sweeping legitimate genres of new anomalous phenomena under its intellectual carpet, thereby denying its own well-documented heritage that anomalies are the most precious raw material from which future science is formed."
In his debut editorial as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Scientific Exploration, Henry H. Bauer gives a similarly bleak assessment of the state of modern science[4]:
"Mainstream orthodoxy routinely resists novelties that later become accepted. Throughout the 20th century there are examples: Bretz's Spokane flood, McClintock's recognition of "jumping genes", Mitchell's insights into biological energy mechanisms, Woese's Archaea, and McCully's homocysteine. Only late in the 20th century did science reluctantly grant that acupuncture can have some analgesic effect, that ball lightning exists, that the kraken is not myth but the real giant squid, that it is not foolish to look for intelligent life outside the Earth, that 5000-year-old megaliths incorporate substantial knowledge of astronomy, that human beings inhabited the Americas long before the days of the Clovis culture, and that living systems can sense not only electrical but also magnetic fields. Indeed, it may well be that the suppression of unorthodox views in science is on the increase rather than in decline. In Prometheus Bound (1994), John Ziman has outlined how science changed during the 20th century: traditionally (since perhaps the 17th century) a relatively disinterested knowledge-seeking activity, science progressively became handmaiden to industry and government, and its direction of research is increasingly influenced by vested interests and self-interested bureaucracies, including bureaucracies supposedly established to promote good science such as the National Academies, the National Science Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health. Parkinson's Law, it may be, applies to science as to other human activities: no sooner has an organization become successfully established than it is by that token already an obsolescent nuisance."
In many cases of anomalous evidence that inconveniences establishment science, simple denial of publication suffices to suppress the anomaly. Sometimes, however, renegade scientists manage to capture the attention of the general public, pleading their case to a larger audience that has no vested interest in the validity of the established theories. When that happens, and significant interests are at stake, the scientific establishment will turn nasty, resorting to misrepresentation or outright falsification of evidence...

I've tried to notify media regarding several interesting scientific discoveries, several times, just to be met by silence. Quite disturbing it is.

they have many more ways to get their work in front of other researchers then we think.
I say in front of other researchers because that is how science funtions . A scientists work(discovery,et al) is not recognized until it is duplicated at research facilities around the world.
Now if your a researcher who is going for patentability and you have something . Your not going to let out your secrets to everyone in the world, your not going to go straight to the public. You are going to first disseminate to small groups of investors. If you can't get the cash you need this way. You might yell about the ability to get your message out, but it's about raising money amongst competing ideas. The researcher may not how the best contacts. The money people may not have the best reseachers.
This is at times a passionate excersize , but boils down to what the market will bear.

Hot fusion and high energy particle research are two areas that are rife with the machinations of scullduggery to get the work into a certain Senators' or Congressmans' district, and to pursue lines of research that will economically benefit certain contractors that have favored status with those representatives. As far as the immediate benefits of the results of that research, the record is not clear.
So far the 30 billion spent on hot fusion haven't resulted in the production of a milliwatt of excess energy.
The money spent running high energy particle physics experiments are adding to knowledge in a very tiny realm, but as far as the practical application of this knowledge to everyday human problems of energy production, there is no foreseeable benefit.
Just recently it was announced that after spending about 1 billion dollars and taking one trillion pictures of particle collisions, we may have discovered the Higgs boson. Unfortunately the characteristics of this particle turned out to refute most of the theories that promoted its discovery. I would suppose that the High Energy community will want another billion dollars to study why the first theory was wrong.
I find nothing wrong with basic research into the structure of matter, but there are other problems more pressing at this time that need the funding and brainpower that is being taken up by these research projects. How can we make solar cells cheaper and more efficent? Can we make power from the ocean more practical? Can we get an automobile to travel 100 miles on a gallon of gas? Is there a better way to store hydrogen? The Higgs boson does not play a part in any of these questions, and it may be that in pursuing these other avenues of research, we may stumble onto answers to questions we have not yet been smart enough to ask. |

Wells never went to the moon, or traveled in time, but to read their books, you'd think they had, or it was possible, or that the future, through technological advancement, would be wonderful. This set generations on the path to glorious discoveries. Some envisioned , some not. It made young children yearn to be scientists, and to dream big dreams. They laid the cornerstones of all that you now see. What will future generations do. Where will tomorrow's big dreamers get their inspirations to sail uncharted seas. Why right here, my friends. Maybe there is not a complete rainbow at the end of our journey to free energy, but if their is a piece we should endeavor to look for it, and maybe the real conspiracy is how we imbue our resolve to continue our search. We may not find the "Fountain Of Youth" , but Florida is a prize in it's own right.

If Thomas Bearden can read this message,I would greatly appreciate his response to the claims of this person who was attempting to put down his findings about zeropoint/scalar physics:

In reply/response to me this Gordon Pusch typed the following:

I was rather offended that this man made these statements against Bearden's findings. Now, I am NOT a mathematician or a physicist, and so I may not be at all qualified for such a discussion, but, I have looked at the offered evidnce in Bearden's books and the stuff seems very solid when it comes to the whole zero point energy/quantum potential technologies.
Feel free to discuss this and Tom Bearden I would greatly appreciate your response to this person's counter claims. Thank you!

Well apart from the scathing personal ad hominem attacks that the man made against Bearden, what about his core claim, about the equations? See, I don't know much about the math part of it all.
I have a question for you that is unrelated: I see alot of discussion in the zero point energy field regarding energy production and the reduction of inertial mass for space craft. But, is it feasible that with zero point energy systems we could make novel new structural materials that would have even higher strength and hardness than the finest steels or diamond-diamond and fullerene nanotube composites? Could we make little devices that you'd paste onto say a structural I Beam, and it would make it impervious to normal stress and strain?
I am also very interested in the idea of manipulating individual quarks and protons ie femto and pico technology.
Could we make quark based transistors, ie quarkonics?

As is often seen at the start of centuries, we are at the first steps of a revolution in material design, that could possibly lead to silicon based life and intelligence( http://www.kurzweilai.net/ http://www.extropy.org/ http://www.foresight.org/ ). The advanced capabilities of an intelligent machines will likely be fast human intelligence, not a leap forward in consciousness.
Having said that it will still do 9.8 million years of lineal human thought process /year of operation. This is because a signal travels in the human brain at 100 feet/sec and in an electronic brain at over 980,000,000 ft/sec. We are already delving into boise-einstein condescents. Where that might lead is, the very treasure which you seek. How fast might it be attained , is of course another dissert ,but there is much hope in the thought of exponentiality of knowledge accumulation(http://picoscience.8m.com/doubling_gif.html). If we keep moving forward at the current acceleration, we could be living in the virtual year 20,000 AD by the end of this century and virtyr 10,000,000 AD by the end of the next century. There is no telling what that would look like. Your guess is as good as mine.

Even though Bearden is quite "noisy", he does have a few points. But an amount of "filtering" is appropriate when reading his work. Gordon together with quite a handful of skeptics obviously cannot do this. They are possibly frustrated about this and this might be the reason they resort to name-calling and generally abusive language ;-)
Seriously, Gordon had only to search the internet briefly to find a plethora of dissertations over Maxwell's quaternion equations (unrelated to Bearden), and that Gibbs and Heaviside after 1879 changed the equations into vector notation.
And Bearden is quite right that by using vector notation, something is lost. Since vector space covers a "lesser" space than quaternions, this is obvious.
While we're on the subject, Maxwell himself may well have missed out on a feature of Hamilton's quaternion which is that its product is non-commuting. I've followed Bearden's writing for some years, and I find it interesting. Some of his arguments concerning the foundational flaws of electromagnetic theory are right on target- for example his observation that force fields cannot exist in empty space, and that therefore the potentials, not the force fields (as claimed by classical EM theory) are the primary physical reality.
But it is true that Bearden never reveals what these alleged original Maxwell equations look like. He constantly talks about them as if he knew them, but he never writes them down. I once spent considerable effort obtaining a thick volume with Maxwell's original collected writings just to discover these equations (that are supposedly in there according to Bearden) but I could not understand the antiquated notation and terminology.
Eventually, I bought Bearden's latest book, Energy from the Vacuum, in the hopes that this book would finally spill the beans and tell us the original, correct form of the Maxwell equations. But once again, no luck. Just as your opponent states, the book only contains the textbook version of the "Maxwell-Heaviside" equations and the same merely rhetorical criticisms that we already know from Bearden's website. |

Here are the exact references on Maxwell’s original equations.
Maxwell, James Clerk, "A Dynamical Theory of the Electromagnetic Field," Royal Society Transactions, Vol. CLV, 1865, p 459. Read Dec. 8, 1864. Also in The Scientific Papers of James Clerk Maxwell, 2 vols. bound as one, edited by W. D. Niven, Dover, New York, 1952, Vol. 1, p. 526-597. Two errata are given on the unnumbered page prior to page 1 of Vol. 1. In this paper Maxwell presents his seminal theory of electromagnetism, containing 20 equations in 20 unknowns. His general equations of the electromagnetic field are given in Part III, General Equations of the Electromagnetic Field, p. 554-564. On p. 561, he lists his 20 variables. On p. 562, he summarizes the different subjects of the 20 equations, being three equations each for magnetic force, electric currents, electromotive force, electric elasticity, electric resistance, total currents; and one equation each for free electricity and continuity. In the paper, Maxwell adopts the approach of first arriving at the laws of induction and then deducing the mechanical attractions and repulsions.
Note that even Maxwell’s original equations still erroneously prescribe the force field in massfree space. The reason was, at that time essentially all the electrodynamicists (there were less than three dozen worldwide) believed in the material ether permeating all space. Hence to them there was not a single point in the universe where mass was absence. If that were true, of course, then there would be no precursor energy fields that were force-free and mass free. All would be force fields in, on, and of mass.
In the conventional equations, just check the present textbook definitions of “electric field” or in a better book, “electric field intensity”. The equations DO NOT EVEN PRESCRIBE “THE” ELECTRIC FIELD OR EM FIELD ITSELF! Actually, the “definitions” are at best an INDICATION of the approximate point intensity of “the massless field as it actually exists in space”, as measured by the interaction of that field in charged STATIC matter and with charged STATIC matter. In short, it is what is diverted from the field in its interaction with charged matter, that is being represented.
Electrical engineering prescribes and uses neither the actual EM field in space, nor it actual intensity. E.g., if one violates that “definition” by feeding EM energy to a system medium consisting of particles which go into particle resonance at the fed frequency, the medium “collects” and re-emits some 18 times as much energy as it would if the same medium were of STATIC particles not in self-resonance (i.e., as the Poynting theory predicts where the E X H involves two fields whose point intensities have been determined in STATIC, NON-RESONANT charged matter media.
That’s the area of “negative resonance absorption of the medium”, known both theoretically and experimentally in physics since the late 50s and early 60s. (Letokhov, Bohren, and many others). However, the scientists in that area do not speak of the thermodynamic COP at all, as far as I’ve seen! Instead, they speak of the “reaction cross section” of that “absorbing” particle with its incident energy field. Thus the “reaction cross section” of the resonant particle is some 18 times as great in magnitude as the “reaction cross section” of the STATIC particle assumed in that definition and used in the “field intensity definitions” applied in the Poynting energy flow theory. In simple terms, the “resonating” charge physically sweeps out a greater interaction area geometrically than does the same particle when absolutely static. Much the same way as a fixed rock in a river’s flow diverges so much of the stream of water, around it, while if the same rock is churned violently to and fro sideways, it diverges much more of the stream of water.
By never using terms like “overunity” or addressing the thermodynamic COP of the process, the scientists in that field thus avoid being persecuted for being “perpetual motion nuts” etc. And they positively DO NOT state in any fashion that energy is being created out of nothing! It is not. It’s purely a matter of how much interaction a certain particle does when static, as opposed to when it is in self-resonance, in the same input energy flow.
My personal take on it is that, since the “divergence” of the field is defined for the static situation because of the field itself being defined only for the intensity of its interaction with a static charged particle, then for the resonant particle one has “swept outside” the normally diverged Poynting component, and gone into intercepting some of the usually nondiverged huge Heaviside curled component of energy flow that Lorentz arbitrarily discarded circa the 1890s. The excess energy flow is there around every circuit, but never interacts with (diverges on) normal static charges and in relatively flat spacetime because in flat spacetime vector analysis holds and the divergence of the curl is a zero vector. But in a curved spacetime, that is no longer true, and so some of that “energy in curl form” in the flat spacetime is now divergent.
I think that’s what the self-oscillation and COP of 18 is showing. But researchers should take their own look at it, including in deeper detail, and see what they come up with.
But simply check the literature on that entire field of negative resonance absorption of the medium. The output of 18 times the input is doable, both by using insulating particles which self-resonate in the IR and feeding them with IR energy, and by using metallic (conducting) particles which self-resonate in the UV, and feeding them with UV energy.
