Breakthrough in Electric Motor Technology
Posted on Thursday, March 11, 2004 @ 22:51:47 UTC by vlad

Devices It is not what we're looking for on this site but nevertheless, I think it is about time and good news for people to know. From their site: "To improve on the basic motor design that's been used for over a hundred years and to achieve the maximum power nature would allow, several significant aspects of the electric motor would have to be literally re-invented and re-implemented in a completely different way.

After working on the problem for over a year, Jack Kerlin, Chief Scientist, at Raser Technologies achieved some very significant theoretical breakthoughs and produced a working motor that proved his new theories. The results from the performance test have caught the attention of leading engineers marking a new dawn for electric motor technology.

"Once I saw the Symetron motor, I wondered why we have relied on a clearly inferior technology for over a hundred years. This leap in electric motor technology is like going from a propeller plane to a jet aircraft."

– George Holling, PhD, EE; President, Association of International Motion Engineers, Professor Western Michigan University; Former Dean Computer Science & Engineering, Utah Valley State College,

Maximum Power & Efficiency Possible in an Electric Motor.

"Raser Technologies' breakthrough Symetron motor takes electric motor technology to its theoretical limit. This technology more efficiently harnesses one of nature's most useful forms of energy and delivers it in a low cost, lightweight electric drive system for industry, home, and electric vehicles.

This revolutionary motor technology works under a set of proprietary design innovations. Application of this technology requires a few simple changes to conventional motors, but yields significant increases in power, performance and efficiency.

This advancement may have a significant impact on the world's electric economy. It comes fortuitously when a move to zero emission and lower emission vehicles has been mandated by government, and helps relieve our dependency on foreign oil. It offers greater economy for the industrial use of electric power."

At least these people are sincere (quote below is from the Raser tech website):

"PLEASE NOTE:
This Website may contain forward-looking statements including the company's
beliefs about its business prospects and future results of operations. These
statements involve risks and uncertainties. Among the important additional
factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from those
forward-looking statements are risks associated with the overall economic
environment, realization of customer contracts, strength of the company?s
pending intellectual property, changes in anticipated earnings of the
company and other factors detailed in the company's filings with the SEC,
including the company's most recent 8K filing, which may be found under the
trading symbol, OTCBB: RSTG. In addition, the factors underlying company
forecasts are dynamic and subject to change and therefore those forecasts
speak only as of the date they are given. The company does not undertake to
update them; however, it may choose from time to time to update them and if
it should do so, it will disseminate the updates to the investing public."

That said, it looks like a helluva motor they've got there....

Tesla's idea of broadcast electricity always sparked a spot in my psyche .

WHAT A LIGHTNING BOLT !

Too bad it couldn't electrify the public similarly.
