Cold Fusion feature article in Washington Post
Posted on Sunday, November 21, 2004 @ 20:08:04 GMT by vlad

Testimonials From "Free Energy News" (freeenergynews.com): This is huge. Major turning point after 15 years of ridicule. A new era is dawning. Praise the Lord!

Cold Fusion > Warming Up to Cold Fusion - Washington Post runs a feature length story, reviving hope for a future of clean, inexhaustible, inexpensive energy. Fifteen years after the scientific embarrassment of the century, is this the beginning of something big -- again?

    Park's predictability (Score: 1)

    Page 4, Park says:

"If there is [some funny reaction going on], I'll make another prediction. If there is, it may solve some puzzles, but it won't be important."

Arthur C Clarke long ago pointed out the reactions of critics to scientific progress:
    1. It's crazy!
    2. It may be possible-so what?
    3. I said it was a good idea all along.
    4. I thought of it first.

Seems Park is at step 2. But with the record he has, he'll have a helluva time trying to go for step 3 and 4...

I was old enough, mature in my physics belief, and hard-headed sufficiently to weather the controversy at the beginning Cold Fusion discoveries, as they were revealed. I did not doubt the technology for one second.
The "scientific embarrassment of the century" was only for those who doubted. (most snob science-elitists) ["I know it all, don't tell me any more" types].
Hal Fox of Salt Lake City was also an early believer. I was at that time close by in Clearfield, Utah and talked with Hal about the newly revealed science then. Utah was abuzz with excitement at the time. Local news papers in Salt Lake City published details of the tests. Television news ran videos of the tests at the University of Utah. Pons and Fleichman are still our heros, though neither were from our area of the world.
We who never doubted do not mind a bit reliving those heady times. They were great, and still are.
