Submitted by Anon to the main page: The allegation of science fraud at NASA with regard to the discovery of the picture-perfect cosmic blackbody spectrum seems at last to be gaining real traction, judging from these facts on the ground:

Within a year of publication of the allegation site, NASA's "legendary" scientist John C. Mather, "the greatest discoverer of all times", left the super-duper NASA HQ leadership position that was created specifically to recognize him immediately following his Nobel Prize. He went back to his pre-Nobel job at Goddard Space Flight Center. Today his official standing within NASA is the same as it was before his 2006 Nobel Prize. He has not been given anything visible at all because of the Prize. NASA PR sites have pointedly stopped reporting his further honors and accolades. When on 20 December 2008 Mather gave the commencement address at the University of Maryland, the C-SPAN video leading screen (http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/images/Pictures/Programs/282999/282999-m.jpg) identified him as "Adjunct Physics Professor". Not NASA Scientist, not Physics Nobel Laureate, but the legendary superscientist in this important introduction is Adjunct Professor - a position in name only!

This science fraud is symptomatic of a much larger issue of America losing the World's trust in science (as with many other arenas) that is being brought to the attention of President-elect Obama's newly picked Council of Science Advisors.
